I am a Western Michigan University graduate with a degree in English and Spanish for Secondary Education. I love working with students, parents, and other educators. I strongly believe that students are our future and that teaching is the second most important job in the world (with parenting being the first) because educators help students become successful!
In all of my classes, I keep several aspects open to the students so that: 1) no two classes are the same, 2) the students take more responsibility for their work, 3) I get to see how creative my students are, and 4) I get to see different ideas that I may not have previously thought of. My classroom is always a safe space where we can have a free flowing exchange of ideas. I feel it is crucial to allow students to speak their minds and their hearts without the fear of judgement. I give respect to all my students, until they show me they do not deserve it. My philosophy is that I will treat you as an adult from day one up until you show me that you can not handle such responsibilities.
